Culture

Schwarzenberg is the cultural community of the Bregenzerwald

An artistic gathering place full of imagination

In Schwarzenberg, tradition and modernity go hand in hand. Boldly and harmoniously. Always with a sense of enjoyment, beauty, and artistry. Everything breathes culture here not just in terms of architecture but also in regard to music, painting, and attentive hospitality.

Culture and Schwarzenberg belong together. Ever since our small community was chosen as the exclusive venue for the Schubertiade, this fact has become known internationally. Twice a year in June and August, the world's largest Schubert festival delights classical music lovers from all over the world.

Twice a year in Schwarzenberg the young artists of the music project :alpenarte want to delight longtime classical music fans as well as interested adults and youth who have never been to a classical music concert.

In July and August, the yearly festival takes place in Bregenz, which is only a 40 min. drive away. It's not without good reason that the Bregenz Festival was one of the winners of the International Opera Awards. The beauty of the natural scenery on Lake Constance and the high quality of the performances guarantee a special cultural experience. An organized shuttle bus will take you to the world's largest lake stage, and it will take you back to Schwarzenberg. Thus, a play on the lake is magnificently combined with the wonderful tranquility of the country.
