If you had to describe the Schwarzenberg Advent market in only one word, that word would be authentic. This is probably the reason why it is so well-known and popular far beyond its borders. It is a small market with very high quality and a festive accompanying program.
Whether handcrafts or small objects of art – everything is made by hand in Schwarzenberg: the cookies come from the women in the church choir and are homemade of course. Beeswax candles are made by the beekeeper and there are homemade herbal salts, cross-stitch pillows, and much more. Little market stands are set up in the 260 year old village square between all the historic houses. Snow-covered streets, people warming up with hot tea or mulled wine, and the Christmas spirit fill the square. Advent concerts take place in the Baroque church. The poetry readings are also very popular. The Schwarzenberg Advent is certainly something you have to experience.
