vorarlberg museum

The "Vorarlberger Landesmuseum", newly redesigned in 2013 according to plans by Andreas Cukrowicz and Anton Nachbaur, is the state art and cultural museum of Vorarlberg. It was established in 1857 and has been located in the "Kornmarkt" square in Bregenz since 1905. It has become a central place where testaments of Vorarlberg's art and culture are collected, preserved, researched, and made accessible to the public.

It is a museum for locals and visitors with homes near and far. It combines the past and present and provides insights and perspectives.

Kunsthaus

The Kunsthaus Bregenz is one of the most architecturally outstanding exhibition spaces for contemporary art in Europe. Designed by Peter Zumthor, it is located right in the Bregenz art district and is a central feature of the city. 4 major changing exhibits throughout the year with internationally renowned artists make the Kunsthaus a special attraction for art lovers.

Gebhardsberg

As early as 900 years ago, the Gebhardsberg was known as one of the most beautiful viewing points throughout the Lake Constance region.

The medieval castle ruins can be reached on foot in less than 1 hour from the town center via romantic forest paths - or 10 min. by car. A large parking lot is available. Along with a wonderful view of the Rhine Valley and Lake Constance, the Baroque chapel and the restaurant with its dining room are also worth visiting.

Pfänder

From Bregenz's local mountain, you have a unique view of the "Dreiländereck", where the borders of Germany, France, and Switzerland meet. On a clear day, the view extends from the Allgäu and Lechtal Alps in the east over the Bregenzerwald, the steep peaks of the Arlberg area, and the Silvretta and continues over the Rätikon to the Swiss mountains and the Black Forest in the west.

A tour through the Alpine Wildlife Park is especially fun for the children. Take some time to visit the pygmy goats, rabbits, pot-bellied pigs, ibexes, boars, and the mouflon. The park is also home to marmots and one proud herd of red deer.

The Pfänder lift will take you up the Pfänder in a spacious, panoramic gondola in 6 min.
